Code of Conduct:
The North Carolina Library Association (NCLA) values everyone’s attendance at our events. We strive to provide a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment where participants may learn, network and share information with colleagues in an atmosphere of mutual respect. To that end, we request that attendees abide by the ALA Statement of Appropriate Conduct at our biennial conference and other association sponsored events. If you experience or witness something that you feel is in violation of this code of conduct, please contact Mike Crumpton at 919-271-6812 or Lorrie Russell at 336-307-0930. Poster #8 -- The LatinX Toolkit and Web Portal: Helping Public Libraries Meet the Needs of the Hispanic and Latino Community

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Libraries are spaces that the Hispanic and Latino community, the fastest growing demographic segment in North Carolina, have grown to trust and rely upon. LatinX is a new term introduced by the younger generation that reflects a new and diverse perspective on people from Hispanic backgrounds and Latin origins. The LatinX web portal is the product of a statewide North Carolina and national study examining the best practices for serving the Hispanic/Latino/LatinX community. The web portal and toolkit was designed to accomplish three primary goals: 1) Help public libraries identify the high priority needs of this rapidly growing community, 2) Provide best practices for serving this diverse community, and 3) Recommend how to most effectively market and provide outreach to Hispanic/Latino/LatinX community members.
